"...I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" John 10:10
I guess Amy thinks that if there is nothing on her floor then that means her room is clean. She was pretty proud! I guess I will take what I can get for now.
Then it was time for some tubing.
And swimming and playing around in the creek.
Look I can swim!
Amy catches her first fish!
Amy just having so much fun!
At least she was having fun until Daddy took her out in the tube.
The girls feeding the ducks.
Emily catches another catfish but didn't want to try to hold it in her hands because it was moving too much - for her.
Our fun weekend had a turn of events Saturday evening. Horse Shoe Bay is across the other side of the creek and instead of them doing their fabulous firework show on Friday the 4th they did it on Saturday the 5th. With out even thinking, around 9:15 the magnificent show began and before we knew it Popcorn our dog on the left took off running because the sound was so loud you would have thought we were being bombed - no kidding.
Emily was scared and a little shaky (from the firework show). She leaned over and said "mom, I feel like there is a hole in my heart" I knew that she was scared. So I had to reassure her that it was ok. All this while knowing that David took off to find Popcorn and when the firework show was over I was going to have to let the girls know.
Emily was very emotional and was crying and kept saying "I don't want her to get run over" and the other thing she kept saying was "what if someone found her and likes her and doesn't want to give her back." So we went inside and said a prayer that Popcorn would be found and be safe and return to us that evening.
After driving around for about 45 minutes David called his good friend to come to the house to see if anyone left a message on our machine about finding Popcorn. And low and behold someone did. So we had popcorn back in our arms by 11:30 that evening. It was so precious because Emily was crying and I said "Emily why are you crying" and she said "mom I am so happy" - evidence of tears of joy!
We thank God for answering our prayers by bringing Popcorn home safe to us that evening! Everyone slept good that night once our heads hit the bed.
This was Amy at 10:00 am this morning while everyone was out on the boat fishing.
Over all this was the best trip yet!
Today I am participating for the first time in WFMW (Works For Me Wednesday) hosted by Rocks in my dryer.
Today's theme is 5 ingredients or less. If you would like to participate or see all recipes go to Rocks In My Dryer at http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com/shannon/2008/07/works-for-me-th.html
Here are some of my favorite recipes:
BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
EASY CHOCOLATE ÉCLAIR
2 small boxes French Vanilla Pudding
3 1/2 cups milk
1 (8 oz) cool whip
2 to 3 packages of Graham Crackers (whole not crushed)
I (16oz) container milk chocolate Duncan Hines frosting
Blend together pudding and milk. Once thickened, fold in cool whip. In a 9x13 dish, cover the bottom with graham crackers. Cover this with half the pudding mixture. Then cover that layer with graham crackers, then pudding and end with graham crackers. Take the top and foil off of icing. Microwave about 30 seconds to a minute. I would stir after 30 seconds and then try another 30 seconds. You want this to be thin enough to pour over entire dessert. Refrigerate overnight.
CARMEL APPLE DIP
8 oz cream cheese, softened
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Mix all above together until well blended using a hand mixer. Serve in bowl with apple wedges.
